Casual connection with my previous release (costals.bandcamp.com/tibre-et-oronte) : the song I sampled here came out the year when Montherlant killed himself (and it's much more of a stoic and rational death than a horrible emotional drama).

This song wouldn't exist if my friend Nicolas didn't host my for many weeks at then end of 2019. Because he did, one morning in the car with him I discovered the song La Mouche from Michel Polnareff playing in the radio. That morning I got the blues because of my feelings for a special person, and when I heard that song that kind of talked about my situation but in such a funky-carefree attitude, my energy totally changed.

Actually – thanks to my Shazam history, I can confirm the fragment of memory I had. That morning of December 19th 2019, three amazing songs I didn't know where played in a row (I think it was on France Inter radio). Here are they, in order of play :

1. Michael Kiwanuka - Hero
2. Michel Polnareff - La mouche
3. Tom Misch Feat. De La Soul - It Runs Through Me

This combo contributed to put order in my consciousness and having a great day.

So about my song, I first though I'd do a kind of cover of Polnareff. But let's face it, it's not a cover. I just repeated the same two lines, added my own lyrics, sampled some guitar (second half of the psychedelic guitar is from a sample pack) and put that piece of the original as outro.

Before hearing that song, I didn't really know Polnareff's music. Because he did that one song, I got interested. I still gotta listen to more of his discography.
